His softening heart

Ephesians 5 21, 24 " You wives must submit to your husbands' leadership in the same way you submit to the Lord. So you wives must willingly obey your husbands in everything.."

Welcome to another episode of Living Room Ministry My names Debi and I'm glad you stopped by.

When I met my husband almost 8 years ago his heart was wounded and broken - he had turned away from God because of an incident that happened when he was a young boy. It started when a pastor chose the wrong path and chose his wealth over helping someone in need. I know this because I asked him.

His heart was so hardened he wouldn't even let someone listen to music and sing in his presence. Nor talk about positive things that were happening in one life or the church.

A few years after we were married , we experienced a house fire. Every room was destroyed except the room where my bible rested. After we settled into another apartment a girl friend gave me a house warming gift- Christ on the cross. It is beautiful and she gave it to us so our home would be protected. When I showed my husband who was still hurting he said I don't want it any where I can see it. So I honored his wish and re boxed it back up only taking out when I wanted to see it.

Fast forward to today,I am now attending church every Sunday involved with bible studies and even have a bible sitting on the corner of my desk- where he can see- After church he asks me how the service was and what happened- something he never did before. We now have a digital camera and I was thinking of taking a picture of this Crucifix so I could have it on my desk top. I asked if I could barrow it to take a picture so I can transfer it to my pc. When I asked if it worked because it needs batteries and was not working for a time, and if so could I could use it. Silence. So I wait.. Then after he was finished with what he was doing he asked "what did you want me to take a picture of?" I told him and nothing, well nothing as in no negative reaction. I went on to say since I cant have it out where you could see it I wanted to have it on my desk top so I could see it.

I'm glad I was sitting because he then said , "why don't you have it out - you can set it on your desk." All I could do was keep from Crying and began Praise God silently!! He is working to soften my husbands heart.

Patience, and a loving submissive heart can work miracles when they are first given to Jesus to coordinate.

Edit : It will take alot of patience- After the pic was taken he asked that it be removed off his table- which it was on....

  1. Whether our husbands are walking with God or going their own way, we are submit to their leadership. Lives lived in quiet submission to them and God speaks louder than any words we could speak.
