Unplugged equals connecting to

How often do our lives revolve around electronics, committees or even people ? And how often do we then get overwhelmed or tired to the point when we do stop to study God's Word , we miss something or totally don't hear his voice at all?

This has been me in the past but at that time Being still and listen wasn't even in my thoughts. I was busy and that's what I loved. But I wasn't going any where. I didn't have time to think of me or things that were apart of my past.Worse I didn't have time to think about God and before long life for me fell apart and I became lost.

Next, I found myself  with an empty calendar and nothing to fill my days except sitting at home watching the world go by.I felt soo bad because I wasn't accomplishing anything. My days had  nothing to show for them. But I knew God had a reason, and I had to be patient. But for me it was hard I felt like I failed.

Now my life has changed yet again and my calender is beginning to fill up again. But this time it is different because I am different. This time I am letting God guide me where before I did not.

Through this journey I have been led to two verses that I am going to refer to often

Psalm 46:10 (NIV) "Be Still ...an KNOW that I AM  God."

Rom 8:28 (NLT) And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

So in my waiting God was helping me redirect my thoughts and  refocus on Him, Then after my season of waiting it was time to start over this time with God at the helm and directing my steps. So now my busyness was focused where it should be- God's Glory and for his will.

  1. That's the key, isn't it? To let control be in control and direct our lives. Everything we do should be for His glory.
Thanks for visiting and commenting at Woman to Woman Ministries. Many blessings!

  2. Hey Lisa thanks for stopping by my page and leaving a comment. It is the key .I have learned to let it in and let it go. But that was after a long time. I love spending time in the morning over coffee with the ladies.meaning the women from the different blogs I read daily. I see us all sitting around the table sharing the wonderful grace of God and what He is and has done for us over a cup of coffee. I hope you stop in again.

  3. Thank you SO much for stopping by my blog... and allowing me to have coffee with you. Your words... both on my blog as well as in this post I just read... have touched my heart.

God has me in a place to just... Be still. That's so hard for someone who has been constantly going for SO long.

Thank you for the reminder that takes everything in our lives and works them together for His glory. Thank you for the reminder to Be still... to be okay with an empty calendar... to allow Him to be the leader of our days.

Thank you for the reminder that I stepped into my adopted kids lives every bit as much as they stepped into mine. I was even called on Mother's Day by one of them! :)

Thank you for sharing this cup of coffee with me. I feel as though we will be fast bloggy friends!

    Have a blessed day...

  5. I have that first bible verse on a plaque above my pantry door. It was a very hard won understanding that I needed to let go of my busyness to hear His voice. Just saying that verse gives me peace, because stopping for even a second to reflect that He is the creator, controller, all knowing and all powerful God who loves me completely steadies me like no other thought.

As I see busyness heading toward me on a galloping horse, I'm grateful that I read your post today and am reminded that He is God.

    Have a blessed evening!

  6. Hi Leah, sometimes we think busyness is productive, but its really chaos disguised as activities.

  7. Good for you! That can be so hard to do. Remember this advice, "No is a complete sentence." It's okay to say no to ministry too if you don't feel led to do it. Don't let guilt but God guide :)

    Blessings,
    Mel
